Excel to Oracle |
Excel-to-Oracle is a program to migrate MS Excel data to Oracle database. Each worksheet becomes a table, each row becomes a record and each cell becomes a field. The program can also export data from Comma Separate values (.csv) files.

Once you stored conversion settings into profile you can run the program in Quick Launch mode. Just launch Windows Explorer and double-click on the profile description (.x2o) file with left mouse button. This will cause Excel-to-Oracle wizard to launch conversion loading the necessary settings from the specified profile. Then you will be taken right to the screen with progress of conversion without entering all conversion settings.
Microsoft Excel and Oracle have unequal ranges of data types. That's why refining types of certain columns may be necessary during the conversion process. Excel-to-Oracle provides two modes of refining types: automatic types mapping and manual table structure customization. To use automatic mode select "Refine type conversion" checkbox on "Step 2 of 4" wizard page. Manual table structure customization can be accessed by double click on the correspoding table name in "Selected worksheets" list of "Step 2 of 4" wizard page.
To customize type mapping select the appropriate item in the listview on the left and specify new name, type and default value for the field using "Field info" group of controls. Please note that listview on the left contains column attributes of the original types mapping, new custom types and attributes will be displayed in "Field info" controls when the corresponding item is highlighted in the listview.
