Serial Data Logger
Log and analyze serial port dataflow
Serial Logger does everything you may need in the RS232/422/485 COM ports monitoring department. It will monitor, neatly log, and help you analyze all serial port activity in the system. There is no better way to track and understand issues that may occur during an app or a driver development, test and optimize COM-port devices, and more.
RS232 Data Logger (Serial Data Logger) is a friendly yet very professional software that offers its native terminal, data export, advanced filters, flexible search options, etc. What's great about this program - you don't need any additional hardware to use it.
There are two editions available in Serial Port Logger - Standard or Professional.

-
Log serial COM port communication for future analyzing and testing
Serial Port Logger can connect to a COM port already opened by some app and start monitoring this port right away. All data it monitors is logged properly in real time. All data can be redirected to a specific file or just copied to clipboard. Serial Logger also records all serial input/output control codes (IOCTLs), with their full details and parameters. Any monitoring session can be saved and loaded whenever you need it.
-
Monitor several ports within one session
You can monitor and log several RS232 ports within one session, which gives you the possibility to see how apps interact with more than one port and devices. Data is logged on a first-in first-out basis for convenient analysis.
-
Read captured data in different ways
The data that RS232 Logger captured can be viewed in 4 modes: table, line, dump or terminal, each providing a different way to represent recorded serial data. And with advanced filters you only have to deal with data you are interested in.
-
Emulate data sending to serial device
Another highlight of Serial Data Logger solution is emulation of data sending to a serial device. It can be sent to a monitored serial port in various formats - string, binary, octal, decimal, hexadecimal, mixed - on behalf of the application monitored. This way you can follow the reaction of the monitored device to specific data or commands.
